Review: Will Grayson, Will Grayson - John Green and David Levithan

Favourite Bits: Two main characters with the same name, chapters with no capitol letters, awesome gay best friends, multiple perspectives, pen pal relationships, boys with girls, boys with boys, indie boys and indie bands, a bit of cheese, realistic portrayal of depression, night time visits to porn shops, a gay musical. This book had so much awesomeness to it!

Least Favourite Bits: The only parts of this book I didn't like were when not so good things happened to the characters I liked, and the ending was a little cheesy but still generally awesome.

Main Character: The two Will Graysons were both awesome, I think however I have to say I was a little more taken by David Levithan's WG, mainly because I can relate more to where he's coming from (the depression part, not the gay part). I do love them both though, and John Green's WG does have some nice shining moments.

Love Connection: I can't say much about Levithan's WG without spoiling major plot points but it certainly gets the feels going. As for Green's WG, he has some nice romantic interludes with Jane, nothing too grabbing, but still good all the same.

BFF: TINY COOPER! What an awesome character. The gayest guy who is very very large, and the largest guy who is very very gay. I tell you, he just about steals the show from the two WG's.

Final opinion: The first book I've read of John Green's and the sixth of David Levithan's, I was definitely glad these two others collaborated to bring to life this awesome journey with realistic characters and genuine emotion. A great novel with a lot of heart (and angst, the good kind) that gets those feels going.
